Star Wars Greatest Hits Basic Figure Episode 3 R2-D2 Review

(More customer reviews)This was one of the only R2-D2 figures available (they are always sold out!) and it also happens to be the least expensive. That aside, my son loves this R2. If you press his midsection, he beeps and whirrs 9sampled directly from the film). The only drawback is that R2's center 'leg' does not retract into his body; probably because of the embedded computer which generates the sound. But it's a small price to pay for having an R2 that makes sounds and lights up. Awesome action figure!

This is a slightly more pristine version of R2 than the more accustomed version. The white, blue and silver look showroom-resplendent, revealing nothing of the smothering sand encrustations of Tatooine or the phlegm-thick opaque-green swamp morass of Dagobah. R2 is slanted back slightly, poised on all three treads, which could indicate high-speed transit on R2âs part. Droids of this type are formatted to fit the astromech sockets aboard vessels like Skywalkerâs X-Wing. From the position, they maintain communication with their pilots and are able to perform functions like diagnostics and repairs. R2 in particular seems to do this specific model justice, as he has been one of the absolute constants throughout the entire Star Wars storyline. Whereas C3-PO could sometimes serve more as a hindrance or comic relief at best, R2 demonstrated his resourcefulness several times over. Somewhere along the way, however, he seemed to lose all of the clever and expansive modifications he showed during the time of Anakin Skywalker.

I'd highly recommend combining this with the bar and stools from Star Wars: Original Trilogy Collection > Mos Eisley Cantina w/ Dr. Evazen Wuher and Kitik Keedkak Action Figure Multi-pack and Star Wars: Original Trilogy Collection > Mos Eisley Cantina w/ Snaggletooth, Ponda Baba, and Obi-Wan Kenobi Action Figure Multi-Pack, which have other figures as well as bar stools.

Star Wars Djas Puhr Attack of the Clones A New Hope Figure Review

(More customer reviews)I passed on Djas Puhr (Jasper? c'mon!) the first few times I saw him. Something about him was too "Star Trek" for my tastes. Maybe it was the big head on the humanoid body. Maybe it was the fact that the character is SO obscure that the picture of him on the package is the one shot of him from the entire saga (I'm not even sure he survived the "Special Edition"). I finally bit last week. I was in a buying mood and he was the only figure I found in three different stores that I didn't already have.
I'm really glad I finally got him. Out of the package (yes, I'm an opener) he looks really good. Nice paint, nifty sculpt--though he DOES fall over easily without a stand, the guns are a bit flimsy but they fit well into his holsters, and he looks really cool hanging out with the rest of the freaks in the Cantina.
Maybe it is more of a figure for the collectors out there but we collector types spend a lot of money on this particular obsession so kudos to Hasbro for making one for the big kids.

(More customer reviews)This is a must-have toy for any "Star Wars" action figure collector. The sculpting on this little fellow is outstanding. Chief Chirpa is an accurate reproduction of the Ewok from "Return of the Jedi".
Fans had been waiting quite a while for this one when the manufacturer announced that it would be released this year as part of the successful "The Saga Collection" line of action toys from Hasbro. Chirpa was one of the few characters from the original assortment of "Star Wars" figures not yet re-made in the modern, post-1995 era.
And the wait was worth it...!
The figure is not only sculpted quite nicely, the coloring is also fantastic -- so are the accessories. He comes with a detailed staff and a tiny Ewok knife that fits into an equaly tiny shaft on his belt.
Wow -- what a great figure! Go! Buy it!

He sleeps with it every night, takes it on long car rides, he liked how it can fit in his pocket. But after about a month the gold started to come off and now 2 years later all the gold is gone completely (it's a dirty gray now). But it has HELD up too being step on, smashed in a toy box, left in the yard and who knows what else and not a single rip!! If the gold color had not come off I would have given it 5 stars.

My son feels like he can't really play with it for fear of breaking the lightsaber again. Also, the arms don't move and only has one stance. Other than that, it's ok to collect but not to really play with. Too bad, my son loved the looks of it, but too delicate.

It has two major differences to most other Astromech sculpts: It's middle leg is completely removable and when you spin it's head a little antenna pops up. Unfortunately, the droid's head cannot face forward and have the antenna completely up at the same time. But I don't use the antenna anyway. It also comes with a box, a lantern and a small case. And, like all of The Saga Collection figures, it includes a mini hologram.

Star Wars Saga '06 Basic Exclusive Action Figure #71 Kitik Keed'kak Review

(More customer reviews)In an interview about the cantina scene, Mark Hamil famously described Kitik Keed'kak as a "giant cricket." Unfortunately, the tech crew never really got this alien down well enough for a close-up in the movie, but you can see him in the background. I was excited to finally see a figure of this guy to add to my cantina scene. When Kitik Keed'kak get his own figure, you know that Hasbro has made figures just about every other alien. As such, this guy is great for collectors.
The figure itself is somewhat stiff (like the prop used in the movie). She can't bend his arms much or turn her head. Also, the stand says "Attack of the Clones," even though Kitik Keed'kak only appears in "A New Hope." However, the detail and painting are great for collectors. She stands well enough to ask Wuher for a glass of cricket juice (or whatever she drinks).
My recommendation would be to buy the three-set with Wuher, Dr. Evazen, and Kitik Keed'kak (Star Wars: Original Trilogy Collection > Mos Eisley Cantina w/ Dr. Evazen Wuher and Kitik Keedkak Action Figure Multi-pack) if you don't already have the other two figures. If you do have them, I'd recommend getting Kitik Keed'kak to fill out the cantina.

Hasbro Star Wars Darth Maul Jedi Duel w/Doublebladed Review

(More customer reviews)It's sad that after all these years this figure is one of the better Darth Mauls around. It's an oldie (from around 1999), but stands well and has a fair number of dramatic poses. The wrists swivel so he can hold the double-bladed lightsaber in a variety of fighting stances. Also, it's nice to see that the figure is correctly proportioned, as the real Maul was pretty short. Overall, this is still the Darth Maul to get - at least until Hasbro makes one for its Vintage line.
