Star Wars Collector Series 12" Cantina Band Member Review

Kenner released six of these guys. They're all the same basic figure (though I'm sure their mothers could tell them apart), but each has a different instrument. The idea was that serious fans would be compelled to buy all six.
Pros - The head sculpt on this figure is pretty realistic, the outfit looks good, and it's very articulated. The detail on the various instruments is also impressive.
Cons - The hard plastic head looks a bit off. I think a softer material - like what they used on the Star Wars 12" Collector Series Figure - Greedo figure - would have worked better. Still, that's a minor complaint.
These Cantina Band members are not essential figures by any means, but if you're collecting the 12" Star Wars figures you're probably going to want at least one.
Edition Notes: The early versions of the Cantina Band figures came in the original style packaging (with a photo on the front flap) and were exclusive to a particular retailer (I don't recall which one). (More customer reviews)When I was younger and set up my Star Wars dioramas, this paper backdrop really made my cantina set come alive. It stays up pretty well and looks pretty good with figures. I'd highly recommend combining this with the bar and stools from Star Wars: Original Trilogy Collection > Mos Eisley Cantina w/ Dr. Evazen Wuher and Kitik Keedkak Action Figure Multi-pack and Star Wars: Original Trilogy Collection > Mos Eisley Cantina w/ Snaggletooth, Ponda Baba, and Obi-Wan Kenobi Action Figure Multi-Pack, which have other figures as well as bar stools.

Star Wars Djas Puhr Attack of the Clones A New Hope Figure Review

(More customer reviews)I passed on Djas Puhr (Jasper? c'mon!) the first few times I saw him. Something about him was too "Star Trek" for my tastes. Maybe it was the big head on the humanoid body. Maybe it was the fact that the character is SO obscure that the picture of him on the package is the one shot of him from the entire saga (I'm not even sure he survived the "Special Edition"). I finally bit last week. I was in a buying mood and he was the only figure I found in three different stores that I didn't already have.
I'm really glad I finally got him. Out of the package (yes, I'm an opener) he looks really good. Nice paint, nifty sculpt--though he DOES fall over easily without a stand, the guns are a bit flimsy but they fit well into his holsters, and he looks really cool hanging out with the rest of the freaks in the Cantina.
Maybe it is more of a figure for the collectors out there but we collector types spend a lot of money on this particular obsession so kudos to Hasbro for making one for the big kids.

Star Wars Build-A-Droid Wave 09 - Major Panno Action Figure Review

(More customer reviews)Major Panno was a Rebel tactician who worked with General Madine to plan commando strikes. From Return of the Jedi, he's a Dressellian seen in the Rebel briefing room and at the Endor victory celebration, and this is the first figure of this particular character that has ever been done. A great job was done on him, too! The face sculpt is fantastic, complete with E.T.-like elongated head and shiny golden eyes, and his clothing is all beautifully detailed. Panno even has a cloth cloak with a hood shaped to fit his head nicely, and he comes with a commlink, blaster, and a pair of goggles. His commlink fits nicely into either of the two little open-bottom pockets on the front of his cloak. Oh, and one more thing, Panno comes with one of those sweet Build-a-Droid parts. Two, actually. With Panno, you get the "head", for lack of a better word (couldn't really call it a dome), and the center foot for R5-C7, a droid from Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones. Like most of the current Star Wars figures from Hasbro, Major Panno has excellent articulation just about everywhere you'd want it. A great addition to your Star Wars play or display collections. I can't wait to add him to my Ewok village celebration display, and I can't wait to get the rest of the parts to build R5-C7, a great little R5 unit from the original Star Wars film!

The jacket was stuck to the figure and Greedo had bulging muscles and a huge chest - exactly the opposite of his low-life character in the movies. This version is a vast improvement. Greedo is tall and lanky, just like he's supposed to be. A great figure for your cantina set.

Star Wars Power of the Force - Mail In Kabe & Muftak Action Figures Review

(More customer reviews)These figures are for two of the cantina aliens in A New Hope. In the book of short stories, Tales From the Mos Eisley Cantina they were put together. Muftak is a Talz, one of only two Talz action figures ever made. He has great detail and comes with a cool blaster. He has a swivel neck, shoulders and hips. He also has a swivel elbow on his right arm so you can make him scratch his head, just like in the movie. In the short story this is revealed to be a frequent habit of his. Kabe is an 11 year old girl. She has swivel neck, shoulders and waist. And comes with a cool looking little vibro axe. In the story she is a pick pocket and addicted to a drink called Juri juice, also now as Jawa juice. They repainted her for the 2006 saga collection, but this one's paint job is much more film accurate. Plus this 2 pack is the only way to get the Muftak figure.
