(More customer reviews)I'm positive this toy has no educational value, but what is wrong with a toy being a toy? My youngest son has always had a thing about "little mens". He is now 8 and still has a micro Buzz Light Year he got when he was 2.
These toys will be treasured and as you can get a whole battalion of storm troopers in your pocket, they will be played in the car, in the mall, at school........To quote my son, "they are sweet"

Star Wars Micro Machines Action Fleet Series Alpha B-Wing Review

(More customer reviews)If you want to get one Action Fleet Y-wing, get this one. The ship is probably the best of the B-wings in the Action Fleet series. The concept art B-wing is a nice touch and looks very quite different from the final design. If you already have the original B-wing, the main vehicle isn't much different, with just a few streaks of battle damage, so you'd really only be paying for the ship. It would have been nice if Hasbro had repainted the ship and made the cockpit a bit smaller, but as it stands it still looks great.

Also, I don't know if you've seen a 90's Micro Machines playset anywhere lately, but they don't make them anymore. This product was in the original packaging, untouched, pristine, and SO CHEAP. (More customer reviews)The Action Fleet Tie Defender. This little ship is perhaps the most infamous, and rarest, in the Action Fleet line. It came out soon after the PC Tie Fighter game, which features the craft. Unfortunately, it was almost impossible to find in stores. I finally acquired two for a reasonable price and boy am I glad. It's a nice looking ship, well sculpted. You can remove one solar panel, and flip another one so it looks like "battle damage." Both features are done well and are integrated seamlessly with the main body of the ship. I do wish the wings were slightly bigger, as it would probably be better proportioned with the cockpit, but other than that this is a great replica of the ship in the game. This is a tough one to find, so my only advice is that while it's expensive, you should be able to find one boxed for around a hundred dollars or so. If you do find one, get it!

Micro Machines Star Wars Action Fleet Jabba's Sail Barge Set Review

(More customer reviews)Along with the Tie Defender and E-wing, Jabba's Sail Barge was one of the rarest and most sought after Action Fleet items in the late 1990s. While the Sail Barge might not seem like the makings of a great Action Fleet ship, this one is pretty good. On its own, it's pretty realistic looking and probably still one of the best toys of the Sail Barge we've yet seen. The hidden compartment with Jabba doesn't do much for me, but it's not bad to have and is pretty inconspicuous. Also, the figures are way too large for the ship, but again under the sails are pretty inconspicuous. The sails do twist and can come off, a nice feature if you want to add more figures underneath the sails. Overall, this is a nice ship, but isn't big enough to be proportional to the figures. Fortunately, this ship isn't nearly as tough to find as the Tie Defender and E-wing and you can probably find one for a decent price.

I've never heard of these Micro Machines before and when I got it was surprised at exactly how small the little characters really were. "Micro" Machines...they really mean it! However, the toy is really cool. Overall, I would recommend it.

Anderson (volume 1 of the Jedi Academy Trilogy) and includes the following: figurines of Admiral Daala, Kyp Durron and Moruth Doole, about 3/4"; mini Sun Crusher, Z-95 Headhunter and TIE Interceptor, these vehicles range from about 1 to 2" in length. This set was manufactured by Galoob in 1996, and is a nice vintage collectible item for a Star Wars fan (most likely adult, because these figurines are so small in size they are a choking hazard for a young child).

Micro Machines Boba Fett Cloud City Transforming Action Play Set Star Wars Review

(More customer reviews)Micro Machines are miniature toys, made small so you can store them or take them with you easily. They went out of business over 10 years ago, and this toy was released in a limited amount in 1996. A special group of toys had the heads or bust of different Star Wars characters, that each opened up into a miniature interactive scene from the movies. They usually included tiny movie figures and vehicles. In this case, Boba Fett's helmet opens up to a scene from the Bespin Cloud City in the "Empire Strikes Back" movie. The figures include Luke Skywalker, Bobba Fett, Han Solo, Darth Vader, Lando Calrissian, C-3PO. A Twin-Pod Cloud Car is included. The antenna on Bobba Fett's helmet raises and lowers. I like all the transforming head sets from Micor Machines, but this is the best in my opinion. Very collectible.

(More customer reviews)Micro Machines was one of our favorite toy companies for many years, until they were closed down in 1998. Their tiny miniature toys were wonderful, and you could carry a dozen of them in your pocket when the car size one were only 1.5 inches long. They had really nicely designed toys from Star Wars, including the "Star Wars Master Collector's Edition" from 1994. This set includes a huge collection of 19 vehicles from the first 3 movies of the original Star Wars trilogy along with stands to display them on (although we preferred to play with them).
including:
6 vehicles from Episode IV, "A New Hope" including an X-Wing Starfighter, Jawa Sandcrawler, Imperial Star Destroyer, 7-Wing Starfighter, and the Millennium Falcon.
7 vehicles from Episode V, "The Empire Strikes Back", including a Tie Fighter, Snowspeeder, Imperial Tie Bomber, Slave 1, Bespin Twin-Pod Cloud Car, and the Imperial AT-AT.
6 vehicles from Episode VI, "Return of the Jedi", including Imperial AT-ST, Jabba the Hut's Sail Barge, B-Wing Starfighter, Speeder Bike with Rebel Pilot, Imperial Shuttle Tyderium, A-Wing Starfighter.
1 Limited Edition "Super Star Destroyer Executor" you could not get anywhere else, and was only available in this set.
Great toy for collectors or just to play with, takes up a lot less space than the regular size Star Wars toys.

Star Wars Action Fleet Tie Fighter Review

(More customer reviews)The Imperial TIE Fighter is a unique design which should be a part of any Star Wars fan's collection. After all, you need *something* to chase off those X-wings.
The Action Fleet TIE Fighter is generally a good toy, with excellent play-factor. Not only can you open up the cockpit and insert the pilot, but you can pull off the reactor on the back and take out the fuel tanks under the cockpit. This is pretty cool for a kid pretending to 'repair' the ship before take-off or 'blowing the ship up' during a dogfight (and let's be honest, what are the chances of a TIE Fighter coming back alive from a fight?).
Some downsides of the toy are the fragility of the wings. A wing on the one I had as a kid snapped off when I lost my grip on it and it landed on the concrete in my dad's driveway. However, the high-impact plastic should withstand a drop on carpeted floor easily, this was after several *repeated* spinning throws from being 'shot' by my X-wings, and I was able to repair it with epoxy. That being the case, caution your child if you're getting it for Christmas to be careful.
I rated the educational value low because, let's face it, this is a toy of a fictional spacecraft. However, science teachers may find it a helpful visual aid for the future of space travel, since the TIE stands for Twin *Ion* Engine. Ion engines are a real propulsion system, though they are too weak to propel a spacecraft as shown in Star Wars.
Overall, I like the Action Fleet TIE Fighter. For the problems with fragility it has, it is a great toy for a child who has an X-wing or other Rebel vehicle. I'd recommend this to any mini-Star Wars fan.
