It is small, metal, and very detailed. It is solid and heavy for its size. There is a two-part plastic stand and the hyperspace ring is a separate piece.
It is a collectors item, and as such it is wonderful. Unfortunately, it has limited 'play' functionality. It is too small to work with any of the Star Wars action figures. I think the ring could get lost easily and the stand can get broken easily under hard play. I would not reccommend it for young kids. The only 'kid' I know who has one of these is a mature pre-teenager uses it as a model for his drawings and sometimes in his home-made videos. If a young child wants something, I would suggest the Star Wars 2010 Vehicle Plo Koons Jedi Starfighter This is bigger and works well with the action figures. There is a LEGO version LEGO Star Wars Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter (8093) 175 Piece Set that is also very good.

An imposing and powerful Jedi Master with a long, distinguished record of service and sacrifice, Plo Koon saw the Jedi Order through many trials in its twilight years from his seat on the Jedi Council. His tendency to see things in the stark terms of simple right and wrong served him well over the years, joining with his heightened extra-sensory abilities to lend him a clarity of vision superior to even other Jedi. This clarity extended even to his piloting; he was a straightforward warrior who was often seen at the head of a bombing run or diving charge. Unfortunately, Plo Koon was unprepared for the subtlety of the Sith, and was blown out of the sky by his clone wingmen after the issuance of Order 66.
Now you can take to the skies with this highly detailed vehicle. Collectible Plo Koon starfighter vehicle features an opening cockpit and comes with a display stand. Measures approximately 3".
