Transformers Cybertron Supreme Starscream Review

Transformers Cybertron Supreme Starscream

Okay, I've heard alot of bad things about this guy. Time to address them:
First of all, his cockpit size. Yes, it's not to scale with the other transformers. Thats because in real life, our buddy Starscream here here isn't this big. Which brings us to the next problem. Yes starscream is big. But personally, I like him big. For me big is good. Some people may not like it, but I do. True, he doesn't have much detail, but he still looks pretty cool, even close up. Next, the transformation. People say it's frusterating. Barely. Yes, the wings fall off sometimes. But not often enough for it to be too bad a problem. And if you move the pieces right, which is very easy to figure out, you should have no problem doing the transformation. Another problem I've read is his arms are to short. Yes his arms are kind of short, but I personally wasn't bothered by it. I guess it depends on how the individual person feels.
I know I said the educational value was five stars. It isn't really, I just said that to keep the average up. Oh and in case you were wondering, his crown can stay on him in vehicle mode too, without his head being overexposed.
Overall, I'd rate this guy 5 stars, 3.75-4.5 if your picky. If you only want this guy for play value, you might want to get the smaller one with Vector Prime. But if you like 'em big, and money isn't an issue, you should get this guy. It might be a good idea, though, to look at him in the store so you know what you're buying. Personally, I love him.

Megatron Dragon (Tri-Logo) Review

Megatron Dragon (Tri-Logo)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've owned this figure and his nemesis, Optimal Optimus, since around the time both figures first came out and they're still two of my favorites. The level of detail is incredible, and although the transformations are not quite as complicated as the current leader class figures from the live action movies, they're still challenging enough to be fun. Plus, Megatron transforms into a freaking dragon - I mean, how cool is that!? (Way cooler than a funky jet or alien tank, I can tell you that.) And if you really must have a vehicle mode, well he even transforms into a crazy resemblance of a car - or at least a crawling dragon with wheels - so there you go! (In case my sarcasm isn't obvious, for my two cents his beast and robot forms are far superior and make his uninspired vehicle form easy to forget altogether, but that's an easy criticism to forgive since a 3rd form is an added bonus to begin with.)
And did I mention the incredible detail? For figures made more than a decade earlier, it's amazing how well both Megs and Primal stand up to the current leader class figures out today. Primal looks right at home next to my live action Leader Class Primes, and I'd argue Predacon Megs is an even better - or at least more fun - figure than his movie counterparts.
I love the live action movies and the figures they have spawned, but Predacon Megatron and Optimal Optimus are also both great figures from an under-appreciated chapter of the ongoing Transformers story. Any collector missing either of them is missing out!

Jetfire - Transformers Voyager Classic Review

Jetfire - Transformers Voyager Classic
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I was given the original Jetfire as a present around 1985, and I can remember being very confused when watching the Transformers television show because Jetfire was called "Skyfire" and although the coloring was the same, the overall design was definitely different. Was he the same guy? If not, where was the Skyfire toy, and why didn't Jetfire appear in the TV show?
I did not discover until about 15 years later that this had something to do with licensing. The original Jetfire toy was not based on the Transformers toy line at all, but some bizarre cross-marketing scheme that somehow ended in a Veritech fighter from Macross/Robotech getting an Autobot symbol slapped onto it. Evidently Hasbro/Takara were able to procure the rights to produce the toy, but not to include its image in the TV show.
The cool thing about this "Classic" transformer is that its design no longer resembles the original Jetfire/Veritech design, but the Skyfire design that appeared in the Transformers TV show. They would have been better off calling this Skyfire, but were probably banking on the popularity of the original toy to help sell more units than memories of the TV show...Or there's some other bizarre licensing thing behind the scenes.
Definitely a good piece of TF history to own for any collector.

Titanium Series Transformers 6 Inch Metal Cybertron Heroes Jetfire Review

Titanium Series Transformers 6 Inch Metal Cybertron Heroes Jetfire
Average Reviews:

If you owned the original Jetfire that was released in the 80's, and were expecting an all metal version of that classic Macross based design, you will be sorely disappointed. The transformation of the figure differs significantly from the original, enough to make one question the name on the box. Whereas the original allowed me to play Transformers or Macross, this new figure just annoys me.Calling it a metal Transformer is also inaccurate - like calling a car an all metal product would be inaccurate. There are metal parts, but most of the figure is still plastic - not unlike the first generation Optimus Prime from the 80's.That said, the quality of the figure is still good. It's a pain to transform, and not nearly as high quality as the name suggests, but it isn't horrible. If you're looking for nostalgia from your youth, look elsewhere... if you're looking for a toy for your grandkid, you could do worse.

Before the Great War between the Autobots and Decepticons broke out, Jetfire was a partner and friend to Starscream. The two were as close as brothers; the one as calm, rational and slow to anger as the other was jealous, erratic and arrogant. When Starscream joined the Decepticons in attacking the Autobot held cities of Cybertron, Jetfire was slow to chose sides. He was hesitant to join in the slaughter of largely defenseless Autobots, but did not want to take up arms against someone he'd considered a friend. Converts from robot to vehicle. Includes display stand. Measures 6" tall.

The Muppet Show Deluxe Collector's Chess Set Review

The Muppet Show Deluxe Collector's Chess Set
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
OK, let's be honest. We're dealing with a chess set here. There is very little that you can do to mess it up. Some sets are fancier, but that's not what the manufacturers were going for here. Those of us who grew up with Sesame Street and the Muppets will love the nostalgic fun of playing chess with our favorite characters as the pieces. Of course, purists may scoff, but that's them taking themselves a bit too seriously. The only possible difficulty for some people might be remembering which character is what. Is the Swedish Chef a bishop or a rook? But that just means learning one or two associations (the knights are on horses, so no problem there), and you could say the same for sets costing hundreds of dollars (e.g., is Legalos a bishop or knight in the Lord of the Rings sets?).

I absolutely love this Jetfire bust. The only issue i have with it is the size. Jetfire was a LARGE Autobot, but this bust is smaller than the rest of my collection.
It's still a great item with detail and all, am very glad i purchased it.

This exclusive Armored Jetfire Bust from Diamond Select Toys features an interchangeable head and hand! Jetfire's dedication to the Autobot cause is matched only by his devotion to scientific and technological advancement - this, he believes, is the only way in which victory over the Decepticons can be achieved. It is this overriding belief that tempers his bravado in battle, but nevertheless, he is often one of the most eager Autobots to plunge into combat, and his position as one of the fastest usually means he is the first to do so.

Star Wars plus Transformers sounded like a good idea. My son recieved this for his Birthday and it literally fell apart in a half hour of playing with it. Transformers Crossovers General Grievous to Grevous Starfighter Review

My boys are just starting to watch the Star Wars cartoons and so we bought them a few of the Star Wars Transformers and they love them! First of all, they teach them problem solving in figuring out how to transform the figures. Most of what they do though is chase Grievous around with the Anakin or Obi-wan Transformers! They seem to be holding up pretty well, but like any toys the harder you play with them the more likely they are to break. But if an arm falls off you normally can just pop it back on and keep playing. All in all these are great for the little ones.

Hasbro Star Wars Transformers Darth Vader/Death Star Review

Hasbro Star Wars Transformers Darth Vader/Death Star
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I agree with all the other reviewers that it's very hard to get it to transform from Darth Vader into the Death Star. I would be stunned if any 6-year-old (my son's age) is able to assemble it having seen somebody else do it, to say nothing of trying to get it from the instructions.
Nevertheless, it's pretty cool once it's in Death Star mode. My son isn't too excited about the Darth Vader mode, but he has been playing with it some as the Death Star. I don't think it's going to keep his attention for too long, though. I'm still marveling at the feat of engineering creating this thing must have been (difficulty of assembly notwithstanding).
While the transformer itself seems very solid, the accessories are not so well constructed. The laser beam and light saber are both very easily bent, and the tie fighters are also pretty soft plastic. As for the arm pieces coming off, I'm not sure that isn't by design (same with the feet, which, at least to me, look like space ships).
For all of you still struggling to put it together, here are some written tips:
* Make sure that his legs are folded all the way up. The trigger for the gun (which is placed between his legs) needs to be activated by pushing his head forward once the Death Star is assembled.
* Make sure to pull the spring-loaded section on his back all the way out. It should click into place. I didn't do this at first and it's impossible to assemble if you don't.
* After the legs are folded up and the bottom cap has been swung into place, start at the back spring-loaded section and snap pieces into place, moving around to the front -- first one side and then the other. Leave the two top sections (the ones with the little doors to reveal Darth's head) for last.
* To get the last two sections in place, look for a little plastic hook on the bottom corners (nearest the back spring-loaded section). For each one, swivel the part so that that hook catches first, then rotate it into place.
Good luck!

This Star Wars toy is definitely more than meets the eye! Teaming up Star Wars and Transformers, Hasbro has created a Darth Vader figure that morphs into the infamous Death Star space station. Recommended for ages five and up, the Star Wars Transformer Deluxe Death Star is a fun new addition to any Star Wars collection. 2-In-1 Toy with Sound Effects When opened up, this amazing 2-in-1 toy instantly becomes Darth Vader--wielding weapons, warriors and the force to do battle against the Rebel Alliance. With some crafty reconstruction, however, this fearsome figure becomes the equally evil, planet-destroying Death Star. As the battle station, the toy features compartments from which TIE fighter aircrafts can fly, and in which miniature figures and Vader's detachable cape can be stored. For fighting on a smaller scale, the toy comes with three fighter planes seven "mini-figs" include and 1-inch tall versions of Darth Vader and three Storm Troopers. A translucent green missile launches from an opening in the Death Star as well as from Darth Vader's gun. Of course, Vader wouldn't be complete without his signature red Lightsaber, which generates realistic Lightsaber sound when placed in his right hand. Another button on the figure's stomach prompts famous Vader lines from the Star Wars movies. Transforms In 25 Steps Stars Wars and Transformers fans alike will enjoy the challenge of reconfiguring the Deluxe Death Star. It takes 25 steps to transform Darth Vader into the Death Star (and vice versa). For the first few times you take these steps, we highly recommend that you use the easy-to-follow visual instructions in the booklet -- otherwise, you might be doing a lot of back-tracking, which can be frustrating. After you've mastered the moves a few times, transforming this vehicle and figure will be a breeze. While Darth Vader's black plastic body is sturdy, the Death Star shell is thinner, lighter and more fragile with many pivoting and rotating pieces. In general, this toy should be treated with more care than most other "boy toys." The Deluxe Death Star is fun for young kids and grown-up kids, but with small parts that could be choking hazard, it should be kept away from children under three years old. What's in the Box 2-in-1 Darth Vader-Death Star, cape, 3 weapons, 3 TIE fighters, 3 miniature figures, and 3 AAA batteries.

just got this new vader transformer...and i have to say im pretty impressed in the look of the sith fighter for darth vader, the details are spot on...even down to the jedi fighters that were shot down stamped on the sides of the cockpit..and the battle ravaged paint job is well done.. this model even includes a vader pilot figure to sit in the cockpit...this fighter looks great displayed on my desk ...and the lightsaber missils are a nice touch and they shoot really far also...
now on to the transformation to robot mode ...well heres where this review gets critical
..the transformation is easy to say the least but when in robot mode its very fragile ...i was afraid i would break this during transforming...the wings are the part that does it..they dont lock in robot mode they just fold back and flop around and dont stay put ...i also collect regular transformers and the constrction on most of those models are more durable when in robot mode(even some of my generation ones are built better)...but other than that if you like star wars this is a good buy just for the sith fighter alone...
if you want a better vader in robot mode..check out the darth vaders tie fighter transformer...that one is more sturdy..

this toy is really great, but youre gonna need some backup as the other dude said. the strategy i use with the at rt is do a little hit n run technique on a strong figure i.e. the force blaster figures (theyre kinda cheap) to increase my chances of knocking it down with its 4 (count em!) missiles. the other reviewer says the at rt does not live up to it's name, it's made for scouting mostly, well at least in the movies. other than that this is a great toy if you like attacktix, but if you dont like attacktix you might be kinda dissapointed.

Star Wars Transformers Luke Skywalker / Snowspeeder
Average Reviews:

My eight year old son is quite a fan of both Transformers and Star Wars, and he knows a good transformer when he sees one. He says, "I really like this one and none of the parts have broken off. It's got a good design and it's easy to transform, though it was kind of hard to do the back part at first. Most important (sic), it's cool looking in both modes." We've read about some of the problems with Star Wars Transformers, and would be inclined to put this Snowspeeder model in the "good" category with Obi Wan and Anakin, as opposed to the poorly designed Luke and Clone Trooper models.
