(More customer reviews)My son desired only this toy for his birthday, so despite the reviews which detailed the flimsiness of the legs and the poor customer service from Hasbro, we ordered this toy from Amazon (sold by Cindy's Favorite Gifts).
It arrived on schedule with Amazon Prime 2 day service. My wife and son opened it up and put it together (minimal assembly). I came home and put the batteries in (not included.)
My son has had a great time playing with this toy so far. Doors and back ramp open with a pushbutton with sounds and voices accompanying the opening process. The main "gun" and front and back mini-turrets all fire "missiles". The main gun lights up with sounds of the gun firing. No, the thing does not actually walk, rather it stands there and allows my son to put his Star Wars Clone Wars action figures in and around the vehicle and simulate a battle. A 6 year old Star Wars Clone Wars fan's dream toy!
Sure enough, within 30 minutes of putting the AT-TE walker into operation, the center legs began to come off with very little manipulation. I had already thought of ways to reinforce the legs but went online and submitted a customer service request on the Hasbro website. Despite the review which said Hasbro was not responsive, within 1 day, there was a response asking me for the date of manufacture code stamped on the vehicle. 2 or 3 days later there was another e-mail stating that a replacement set of legs were on their way to me. The legs arrived 3 days later by mail. They are manufactured differently with stronger clear plastic inner click on hubs. Fine customer service from Hasbro!
Overall, this is a fairly expensive toy for what it is, but is a lot of fun for my son and came with good customer support. I have no complaints!
