(More customer reviews)This set is thus far the crown jewel of LEGO chess sets. In contrast to most previous sets, there's plenty to build in addition to playing the game [chess] itself.
The packaging resembles a giant bookcase complete with buttoned latches, and provide a permanent case for the set even after it's been built. It's too bad LEGO only had this on the market for a limited time. It should be noted however, that the list price is not $599.99. LEGO was selling this set for $199.99 when it was first released. Understandably the after-market value has increased, but indicating a list price of $599.99 is grossly misleading. The set comprises 2,481 pieces (placing its value at around $300-$350, realistically).

I must first say my favorites are the knights and crownies, but I have to say the fantasy era toys make the trolls look pretty awesome, the best toys in the fantasy era castle line in my opinion for play value are the troll toys, this is no exception.
I will tell you as with this new pirate sets ship brickbeards bounty, this troll ship is awesome. I have both ships, I like them both. I am reviewing the troll ship so here I go!! First the hull, some lego enthusiast won't like it because it is a boat hull and it comes in large pieces instead of tiny individual bricks, that doesen't bother me! I like the hull I think it looks great way to go lego. Second the ships features are pretty cool, you have trolls rowing on the oars being driven by the beat of the drum played by a giant troll!!! being whipped by a troll slave master!! hilarious lego. Third the sails are pretty nice fabric and they stay well with the system lego made. Fourth I really like hoist and net that holds a dwarf the trolls sworn enemy!! It really works and looks awesome. Fith the ship has a weapon that shoots what I will call missles It holds 3 shoot 1 and another drops into place repeat!!
All in all a very well thought out and detailed ship for hours and hours of fun!! Way to go Lego! My favorite is the giant troll beating the drum!!

Beware the crimson sails of the Troll Warship! With a crew of battle-hardened troll warriors at the oars and a towering Giant Troll for extra muscle, this fearsome ship attacks from the sea with a net, prison cage and firing launcher. Only the knight with the courage to ride the armored dragon has a chance at stopping it and saving the prisoner.
Set includes 6 troll warriors, a knight and dwarf minifigure, plus a 3"-tall giant troll and lots of accessories. Also includes armored dragon that is 13" long with a 13" wingspan. Ship has a removable prison with a door that really opens. Use the working gear to lower the net and save the dwarf. The ship's launcher rotates 360 degrees and really fires. Help the troll warriors row to the beat of the giant troll's drum. Detach the two smaller boats from the ship. Troll Warship measures 20" long. 493 pieces.

My son has been an avid LEGO Star Wars builder/fan from the time he was 5 through this past year (he's now 12). Now, he is adding the Castle and City sets to his massive collection. LEGO Castle Trolls' Mountain Fortress (7097) He couldn't be happier, and we love seeing the results of his imaginative creations as he combines, builds and dreams up new ships and buildings. LEGOs are the best everyone and every-age products out there.
