(More customer reviews)I purchased this for my 12 yr old son as a "Hey, you're doing excellent in school" reward.
He really likes them. There are some REALLY small pieces in this set so it's not recommended that you not let these get into the hands - and more likely the mouths, of toddlers.
Fairly good construction. They're kind of expensive for some pieces of molded plastic. If these were the same thing but un-branded that you would find in the local supermarket toy aisle, you wouldn't expect to pay more than five bucks. But if you're a Halo fan you probably don't care about that so much! Someone has to pay for the licensing! These are collectible cool!

Because of an unbelievable holiday price, I purchased two of these, one as a Christmas gift for my 12 year-old son, and one for the collectible value later on.
On Christmas morning, it took less than 5 minutes for the War Chieftain's left hand to break off as my son was trying to position it. It does appear to be a movable joint. While my son is generally careful with his toys, I assumed he must have done something wrong for it to break so quickly.
In an effort to make it look like a "super repair" job, I decided to secretly substitute the extra one I bought with the broken War Chieftain. I opened the package and looked at the left hand. It appeared movable. I gently tried to position it as he had intended (so it could hold the weapon). As soon as I did, I could just tell the turn had twisted the plastic and not actually moved at the joint. With one more movement it would be just as the one my son had .... oops, too late. Yes, it had broken just as the first one had, and I did it to the second one.
This is not durable as a toy. It should only be purchased if you want to display it as a collectible with minimal handling, not actually play with it.

Halo Wars Mega Bloks Battle Unit Review

(More customer reviews)This is a very cool set for those who want to build up their armies and get some new colors for both Spartans and Elites. The set comes with two regular Spartans, one green and one blue. It also includes two purple Elites and two Grunts. While the other troops come with the standard weapons (SMG and Shotgun for the Spartans, Beam Rifles for the Elites), the grunts still come with no weapons whatsoever. Now for the stars of the set, the UNSC Marines. These are hands down the coolest figures yet released. I almost bought the expensive Aerial Ambush set just to get my hands on one before they they were released in this set. Aside from the awesome looking EVA armor, these guys wield flamers! The flamers consist of four separate pieces including a backpack and flexible rubber hose. Eight figures (okay 7 and two Grunts), plus weapons for ~$12 MSRP! If you're like me, you bought the Turret set for ~$10 MSRP just for the three figures. A great improvement over the nearly $3 per figure for the recent King Arthur line. Excellent value, a variety of cool figures in multiple colors and flame throwers - what more could you want?

Risk Halo Wars Risk Review

(More customer reviews)What can I say that you don't already know or assume. Well, lets start by saying yes, this is risk with halo characters. There are a few different ways to play the game. The game says 3-5 players, but I have played with only 2 (You do have to make up some special rules). You can play teams, Covenant vs Usnc or teams Covenant vs Usnc vs Flood. Or you can play singles with 5 players. There is a ton to do with this game.
Mixed in with the different game types are different rules and game pieces. For example, you can play for achievements, which when unlocked give you bonus powers. (reinforcements, a cannon, extra post reinforcement moves, extra attack dice, extra defend dice, etc) Reinforcement cards are a little different also. Instead of collecting like symbols, you collect skulls which can be turned in, or saved, for up to 30 reinforcements. This game is a lot faster then original risk, but it has its own unique items and charm. The replay value on this game is VERY HIGH!! I recommend this game not only for Halo fans, but to risk fans who want to change up the game a little.
One side note, you will need zip lock bags, as no containers are provided with this set.
