One of the later figures in Kenner's 12" Star Wars figure line, the Ponda Baba (a.k.a. Walrusman if you remember the old `70s figures) is one of the more obscure characters added to the collection. Ponda Baba, of course, is the alien in A New Hope who gets his hand cut off by Ben Kenobi in the famous Mos Eisley Cantina scene.
Pros - This is a really good looking figure (well, he's extraordinarily ugly, but that's not what I mean), both in terms of head sculpt and costume design. I also love the fact that his forearm is detachable. The blaster is a nice touch too, and is unique to this figure.
Cons - I have no complaints. Kenner did a great job with this one.
It isn't an essential figure by any means, but this Ponda Baba figure is still a worthy addition to the 12" Star Wars figure collection.
