One of the most terrifying sights for Republic forces in the opening battles of the Clone Wars was that of a large group of Hailfire droids racing at insane speeds through the acrid smoke blown out of the exhaust ports of the missiles they carried. Approaching Hailfire droids meant impending doom for any Republic formation, as dozens of missiles smashed into ground and air targets alike, raining fire and hot metal on those not hit by the initial strike. Though relative fragility and low ammunition limited their use, they were still highly effective during the opening strikes of any battle.
