(More customer reviews)Dutch Vander is one of the guys in the original STAR WARS who gets killed off fairly early in the Battle of Yavin. He's on the screen for less than a minute. Yet, he is a part of the Rebel fleet and because of that, he's a worthy addition to a Star Wars action figure collection. Of course, since he was also pretty much a no-name character, it's fun to use him as one of the people who gets killed or blown up during mock battles. All that aside, I bought this figure for one reason: his name. I just like the sound of Dutch Vander. It's a cool name. Anyway, Dutch comes with his own helmet, blaster, and base to stand him on.

Gold Leader was the comm unit defignation for Rebel pilot Jon Vanders Y-wing during the Battle of Yavin. Nicknamed, Dutch, Vander was the leader of the squadron during the attack on the first Death Star. He previously had led a squadron at Renforraa base, and he proudly wore the emblem of Specter Squadron on his helmet. He was killed during the Battle of Yavin.
