The Royal Guard make their chronological debut in Episode II: Attack of the Clones as the protectors of Chancellor Palpatine, replacing the spartan-like Blue Senate Guards from The Phantom Menace. Fans will immediately recognize these blood-red cloaked figures from their original appearance in Episode VI: Return of the Jedi as the imposing guardians standing in the Emperor's Throne Room (...a hint of things to come). This is the best incarnation of the action figure produced to date. Hasbro has come a long way from the stiff-limbed cloth figure from 1983. This version is also quite an improvement over the previous Power of the Force version released just a few years ago which had a one-piece body comprised of a molded robe. The robe has now been made of flexible plastic vinyl and the limbs are fully poseable this time. The arms have pivoting elbow joints so the Guard can hold the included Force Pike accessory with both hands. The additional "lightning" effect easily wraps around the Force Pike to emulate the special effect of the Pike discharge to neutralize an opponent. This figure is #19 in collection 2 and is less common than most of the other figures. It makes for an excellent "Army Builder" for your collection.
