(More customer reviews)This is an awesome Palpatine. His sculptor really captured Ian McDiarmid's expression as he attacked the Jedi masters in ROTS. This is the 2nd or 3rd repaint of the figure and I think the best. It's far superior to the visage of Legacy #38 Palpatine, which was derived from the hologram in The Empire Strikes Back. The figure is fully articulated (neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, waist, hips, knees and ankles)and poses well, so he can either dual with his lightsaber or glare menacingly while sitting on his throne. His right hand takes a firm grip on his red lightsaber.
Unfortunately, the kids and I miss the two-handed Sith lightening.
The Shadow troopers, (A.K.A. Black-hole troopers) are great wild card figures. I would have preferred a pair of red senate guards, but these will do. After a little resistance, my 7 year old son and five year old daughter have taken to them, and both Clone and Jedi have fallen prey to their cloaked ambushes.
The figures have the articulation of the Legacy clone troopers, but with better range of motion in the arms and knees. The wrists miss ball joints which come with the Clone Wars clones. The paint job is intimidating.
In conclusion; 5 stars.
