(More customer reviews)I bought this toy to butcher for the electronics for a homemade ray gun project of mine and I am SO GLAD I DID. This is an awesome toy gun. There is another variation out there called the 'Schylling Cosmic Blaster' which looks like the gun from Blade Runner (sort of) with a drill-like motorized lighted center.
This GALACTIC LIGHT BLASTER has a wicked blaster sound effect with a 'rapid fire' variation, and three light shows going on for as long as you hold the trigger...
1) the sight gives off a steady red light (supposed to be a laser sight?)
2) the tip flashes red
3) holy mother of god the lightshow that goes on in the orb in the center is entrancing. There is a paddle that spins around in this clear globe with LED lights flashing in a random pattern... (I wish I had one of these in college, wink wink)... that produces a pretty wild light pattern.
and
4) there is a rear light that goes on after you take your finger off the trigger... I guess this is the recoil nullifier (TM)??
"Someone knew what they were doing when they designed this toy," says my wife. It probably will eat up the batteries, but it is just so much fun terrorizing my cats with this toy! What a great find! If I didn't already have a plan to place these electronics into a different casing, I would have just masked off the lights and painted this bad boy some different colors, because the chrome and primary blue is just so gaudy.
