(More customer reviews)The new Titanium series of Star Wars die cast models are fantastic, and this Jedi Starfighter is no exception. It is about two inches long and highly detailed, with a battle scarred look. There appears to be several variations of this model with differently colored stripes, but I like the cadet blue stripes on this version over others (pink for Obi Wan's version, purple for Mace Windu's , and light blue for Aayla Secura's) as well as the battle scars on this model (that are not apparent in other versions). There are various moving parts as well: the landing gears, the cockpit cover, and the folding wing tips. The landing gears (three of them) look a little lame, but they fold into the wings and the body almost completely, so they don't mar the overall appearance of the model. The cockpit cover swings up and open as well, exposing an empty seat. The cockpit cover is made of plastic, but the paint applied on it to represent the metal frame has been precisely applied and looks very good. The double folding wing tips are plastic as well and look great.
Unfortunately, I discovered a slight problem with the wing tips, at least on the model that was shipped to me. As it initially came out of the packaging, the top folding wing tips (on both wings) could not be properly folded unto the wings because they had been connected to the wings in an open position such that the slightly protruding bumps on the wings prevented them from being closed. I had to carefully push the wing tips past the bumps so that they would close. Once this was accomplished, the bumps served to prevent the top wing tips from opening up too much. I certainly hope that this defect has been discovered and fixed in other models.
I gave this product four stars because of this slight defect; otherwise, it would have been five stars.
