(More customer reviews)I've always been intrigued by the Lambda-class T-4a shuttle--more commonly known as the imperial shuttle--used by the emperor in Star Wars "Empire Strikes Back" movie. Its folding wings, although completely impractical, gave it a unique look that always appealed to me, but I've been reluctant to acquire a huge plastic Hasbro model of this ship or to build a Lego and/or plastic model. When I finally found a small but detailed die-cast model of this ship, I ordered it immediately, and was not disappointed. This version of the shuttle is supposed to be the ship of an "Emperor's Hand," a personal assassin / spy / agent of the emperor, so it sports additional armaments and a battle scarred look. Its wings move so that it can be posed in various states. It does not feature landing gears, but it can be posed on a small plastic stand that comes with it. Wing tip to wing tip fully stretched out measures about three inches, and the length of the ship is about 1.5 inches. The ship is painted in off white to show a weathered look, and the wings are highly detailed. Only required assembly is attaching the display stand to the bottom of the ship. I wouldn't recommend this for young children, however, as it has some sharp points and can pose a significant danger as a thrown projectile due to its weight. A great little toy for adult Star War fans....

In every external aspect, the shuttle used by the elite operative known as the Emperor's Hand is identical to those used by diplomats and government officials. Like the Hand herself, however, this ship is far more than it seems. Outfitted for the secretive and often violent work performed by the Emperor's Hand, it is an extremely formidable combat vessel in its own right. It is equipped with thicker armor and heavier deflectors than a typical Lambda-class shuttle, as well as a more powerful hyperdrive, and concealed concussion missile launchers.
