(More customer reviews)So let me start by saying this is a review written by someone older than 15, and comes from a slightly different point of view regarding star wars than most that probably would think of buying these cards.
Having grown up in what many considered the 'golden age' of toys, I frequently look back with fondness on the many days playing with the fantastic Star Wars, Gobots, G.I. Joe, and countless others that now are collector's items of some considerable value.
Like most others I burned them with hairspray and lighters, blew them up with all manner of slightly illegal fireworks, and generally sunk quite a bit of money down the drain (but had tremendous fun doing it).
Now as I look at the poor marketing/decision making of the company that created this great product, I see an opportunity once again to own something that could, quite possibly, be worth a bit in the near future.
Are they a fun product to play with? Absolutely, I have a few sitting on my desk at work and everyone (that I work in IT should go without saying at this point) makes an inquiry as to where I found them at some point during our conversation.
They ARE fragile and have quite a few break points (even better as that will reduce them more over the years), but due to the absurdly cheap prices, and the fact that are no longer in production (and target is selling large wholesale packs for $10) to buy what's left, build a few, and left the rest sit in a box in the attic for 10 years is not a terrible decision.
who knows? You might make enough money to buy your kid whatever the goofy new toy is for that christmas, or even better, you might be able to take them out, and remember with fondness the days when you were a kid, and toys like this were commonplace.
