As this is a pre-painted snaptite kit, you don't need paint or glue to get a very attractive model of Boba Fett's iconic ship. Revell's paint job is very faithful to Episode V. The weathering isn't bad for a mass-produced, not-so-expensive model.
I'm a busy guy and wanted to have a model that doesn't look too "toyish", but takes minimal time/effort to assemble. I put mine together in under an hour while watching tv, and this is while carefully cutting the parts from the sprues and using a hobby knife to smooth the parts off. You do need to decide whether you want the ship displayed for flight or in a landed position, since Boba Fett's control seat doesn't allow for rotation between the two after you've completed assembly.
If you are very dedicated, you can use cement and then paint to get rid of the prominent seam at the midline of the ship above and below the canopy. Otherwise, the design of the model was excellent at minimizing visible junctions between pieces. Also the more serious modeler can consider applying a wash to bring out the panel lines.
This is not really a good toy for young kids. High detail and the ability to be thrown across a room and survive are usually mutually exclusive. "No disintegrations!" For a geeky grown-up with a busy work schedule and a Peter Pan complex this is great!
I plan to hang this on the ceiling engaged in battle against the Snaptite Millenium Falcon which I also highly recommend.
